Popular views of aliens as a friendly E.T or as killing machines with acid for blood, are wide of the mark – according to a leading scientist.

In fact, extraterrestrial life is more likely to be jelly-fish shaped.

That is according to space scientist Dr Maggie Aldrein-Pocock – a graduate of the prestigious Imperial College London.

She explained: “Some (scientists) have suggested that hydrothermal vents, which bring very hot, mineral-rich water gushing through the ocean floor, could have provided the spark that triggered the creation of early life.
