It might be time to look at the role of Uruguay’s Committee for the Reception and Investigation of UFO Reports (Cridovni), the highly touted ‘UFO’ (OVNI) research group established by the government. They interview witnesses, collect samples, gather data, and then start a thorough investigation following strict methodological standards. Based on translated Uruguay news reports Cridovni, represented by Sanchez, may have swept under the rug a credible UFO sighting on April 7, 2012, by 40 people camping near the Rio Negro River in Uruguay. After the sighting Sanchez informed the Uruguay press the witnesses saw two commercial aircraft flying at 28 thousand feet; witnesses who claimed to have encountered a ‘black triangle’ object flying at an altitude of about 500 ft. that remained in the area for “about 15 minutes”. The encounter so frightening some of the witnesses, people camped out along the Rio Negro River, hid in their tents or fled into the nearby bush.
