A Florida witness traveling along the Polk Parkway toward I-4 in Lakeland reported watching and photographing a "disc-shaped object with lights on top and around the perimeter of the bottom" that appeared to be "loitering" in the sky about 8:30 p.m. on October 27, 2012, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.
The witness had two children in the backseat at the time when the brightness of the object was first seen.
"It was fairly low, but not dangerously low," the witness stated. "Very bright. My first thought was that it was a plane with fire coming out of the engines or something. I continued to watch it and as we got closer I realized that it was not a plane and it was nothing I've ever seen before."
