The key to finding life on other planets might be to look at the type of light that is being reflected, scientists have claimed.
They have shown how, through studying the light that bounces off an organism on Earth, they can determine its chemical makeup and characteristics.
Using the same method it might be possible to look at a distant planet beyond the solar system and see if it has any similar organisms to Earth.
