Dr. Rhawn Gabriel Joseph, began his career in the 1970s by making and publishing major discoveries in the biological and neurosciences, and had spent many an hour measuring single cells and their axonal and dendritic connections. But it wasn't just his scientific training, but his love of nature, which enabled him to immediately recognized that specimens photographed by several NASA rover teams, were in fact living organisms: fungi, algae, lichens, mushrooms.
