Expert researchers and scientists from NASA are making use of powerful telescopes to investigate the massive meteor that could wipe off the face of the Earth. They are keen on discovering how close Asteroid 2000 ET70 is going to come thundering into Earth.

The two mile wide rock, recently discovered in space, has caused enough stir among astronomers from various American universities. They have termed it as potentially dangerous asteroid. The object of this size is capable of causing immense destruction on the surface of Earth as well as underneath it in the form of disastrous earthquakes, tidal waves and general apocalyptic scenes.

According to Express, this possibly dangerous rock has already crossed Earth's orbit in 2012, when it came within just 18 lunar distances. This distance is considered very close for an object of this size. However, scientists are concerned about its potential return in the coming decades, when it is expected to pass much closer, causing fears of a direct collision.
