Residents in north Phoenix and Glendale reported seeing unusual lights hovering over the horizon Saturday night.

Peter Perez saw the lights just before Easter dinner with family at about 8:51 p.m.

Perez said his step-father saw the orbs first and called out the rest of the family.

"That's when we saw the fleet of them," Perez told 12 News. "We were in awe."

Perez said that 18 to 20 amber-colored orbs appeared from an area that was obstructed from his view on the horizon. The lights did not blink. They hovered in a group, stationary, for about a minute before moving west and disappearing from view.

Perez snapped several pictures of the lights as they moved. After the lights disappeared, he stayed outside for five minutes when the lights returned. The lights behaved the same way as before, but this time there were only 10 lights.

"They were something I've never seen," Perez said. "I don't want to stretch out and say they were another life form, but I know it was something that I've never seen before."
