Dr. Matthew Johnson and his controversial Bigfoot theories have been debated among believers and skeptics around the Bigfoot community since 2000. The psychologists came forward in July of 2000 with claims of a Bigfoot sighting with his family in Southern Oregon at Oregon Caves National Park. His claims at the time made mainstream media headlines and he did multiple media interviews making a big splash in cryptozoology circles. But then in 2011 his story of his Bigfoot encounter took a dramatic turn.

Discussing his Oregon Caves Bigfoot sigthting with paranormal researcher Thom Powell led to an interesting new detail. Dr Johnson claimed that the Bigfoot he encountered had the ability to cloak. This of course gained attention by many Bigfoot believers and skeptics a like who had earlier heard his original non-paranormal version of his story. Dr. Johnson developed what he called SOHA (Southern Oregon Habituation Area) where he began to study Sasquatch he claimed inhabited the area.
