The disappearance of a Tasmanian sailor from a yacht off NSW has rekindled memories of one of the state’s enduring mysteries.
Over the years aircraft and ships have vanished without a trace in an area off Tasmanian’s North-West Coast dubbed the Devil’s Meridian.
Indeed, more ships, aircraft and humans have vanished in Bass Strait than in any other comparable area of Australian water.
These mysterious disappearances have encouraged several bizarre theories of UFOs and supernatural occurrences in the so-called Bass Strait Triangle.
