It's a cold, foggy night in the winter of 1967 and a man is driving along the lonely Murray Bridge to Karoonda road.
He’s playing the radio for company, but suddenly the music is replaced by static, which gradually becomes a high-pitched whine.
He turns off the radio but 150m down the road his car dies. It cannot be restarted. Looking up he notices a break in the fog and sees stars for the first time that night.
The gap is filled with a “large dark shadow” that hovers around 7m from the ground. The shadow appears to be 40m high, topped with a greyish-blue glow.
The man gets out of his car and the silent object vanishes. The banks of fog roll back together. He gets back into his car and tries the ignition again. It starts. Shaking hands gripping the wheel, he continues his journey.
