A mysterious, ape-like creature has been filmed prowling the foothills near a popular hiking trail in California.
Jake Gardiner, who works near the woods of Crescenta, near the 210 Freeway, had been walking through the area on his lunch break when he heard 'strange noises' coming from the trees and felt an uneasy sense he was being watched.
He began filming on his cellphone to try and capture whatever creature was making the noises.
