Adam Murfet was filming an intense storm over Trinity Park in Cairns, Queensland, when his camera picked up some unusual activity, he told local press.
The footage was so shocking, Mr Murfet is reportedly thinking of starting a local UFO watchers group.
Speaking to the Cairns Post, he said he spotted the small object hovering, zipping around erratically before vanishing and reappearing.
He said: “It was at the end of a lightning storm, and I saw this light up in the sky.
“There as no lightning going on at the time.
“It shot up and just vanished.”
