NASA is tracking a huge asteroid called 465824 (2010 FR) that is 270m wide or twice the size of the Great Pyramid of Giza as it is hurtling towards Earth at 31,400mph. The asteroid is set to hit the planet's atmosphere next week, September 6.
Presumably, that means it will graze the outer atmosphere. One hopes. If it reaches the surface it would ruin a lot of peoples' day. To read more, click here.
