Quixotic Quest for Dark Matter - the Moby Dick of Modern Times?

All The King's Men can't put Humpty Dumpty together again.
The Physics Pundits think dark matter consists of weird new real particles whizzing through space.
I predict that idea is as wrong as wrong can be, that dark matter consists of ordinary virtual particles imprisoned inside the quantum vacuum - but of positive pressure unlike dark energy that is similar but with negative pressure.
Who is right? Let experiments decide.
The new Captain Ahabs continue to hunt the White Whale as well they should.
Michelson & Morley looked for the motion of Earth through the aether and failed - similarly with dark matter real particles I predict.
