We propose to implement a nonmetallic low-loss cloak for the infrared range from identical chalcogenide glass resonators.

The practical demonstration of an infrared cloak would obviously be viewed with great interest and concern by the military and national security establishment.  One can envison a field portable, camouflaged cloak for special operations, that not only hides the visual and thermographic signature of the operator, but mimics the temperature of the immediately surrounding terrain. Such a cloak would effectively render any currently avialable ground and aerial optical detection technology obsolete.  To read the rest of the article, click here.
