An eyewitness known only as Brandon was walking from Cheshunt railway station with his girlfriend at 10.50pm on May 5 when they sighted the “very bright red/orange” unidentified flying object aglow in the sky above.
He wrote on a UFO watchers’ website: “It definitely wasn’t a plane or helicopter and we have no RAF bases around here. Its movement didn’t suggest that it was a lantern either. It was gliding along and we watched it for a couple of minutes until it suddenly just faded away as if it had shot straight up within seconds until it was completely gone.”
