In his new book Mirage Men – subtitled A Journey In Disinformation, Paranoia And UFOs – Pilkington outlines a remarkable theory. Conspiracy theorists are right, he says, to suspect an elaborate deception by the US government relating to UFOs. But the conspiracy is not to hide the fact that extra-terrestrials have landed, as most “ufologists” believe. Rather, he says the CIA and another US agency called the Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) are responsible for spreading those very conspiracy theories.

In other words, all rumors of contact, landings, crash retrievals, etc., are all fabrications of military intelligence?  And consequently, all sightings and evidence are illusory as well?   This smacks of an act of desperation by yet another high level debunker.  I find Pilkington's premise far more outlandish than the possibility of real ET visitation on Earth.  The AFOSI has been seeding dis-information into the Ufology community for 50 years, in order to promote dissent and doubt among the ranks.  That is certainly not news.  Pilkington has also been claiming that all crop circles are man made.  That should tell you a lot.  I have yet to read Pilkington's book, but intend to.  To read the rest of the article, click here.

"I met Pilkington in London several times -- once at Uri Geller's Thames Estate. I don't think he has the full story however. See the sci-fi book "Fastwalker" by Jacques Vallee and Tracy Torme - supposedly based on real events." -- Jack Sarfatti
