Dan T. Smith, son of an Eisenhower presidential advisor, suggests interest by the CIA in discussion of various paranormal topics, including the reverse engineering of advanced technology then being pursued by USWeb CEO Joe Firmage.
Ronald S. Pandolfi, who had been identified by the New York Times as a senior CIA analyst, responds to Mr. Smith in a tongue-in-cheek fashion, concerning Smith's allusion to recruitment by CIA. Among the numerous recipients: Joe Firmage, who was responsible for bringing together scientists from the former Soviet Union with their Western counterparts, physicist Jack Sarfatti, known for his interest in backwards time information from the future, and psychic Uri Geller.
