What with volcanoes, quakes, tsunamis, pandemics, oil spills, nuclear weapons, uncontrollable debt threatening to bankrupt entire nations, global warming threatening to drown entire cities and untold numbers of unidentified terrorists cooking up unknown horrors, you would think that our earthbound afflictions and menaces had given us enough to worry about.
