In a scientific feat, Chinese researchers have cracked the code on hydrogen therapy. That is, they have introduced a cutting-edge approach that utilizes nanotechnology-based implants to deliver hydrogen, which could help with problems related to aging and diseases like Alzheimer's.
The study, a collaborative effort by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, underscores the potential of hydrogen in undoing the cellular clock.
Growing old and certain diseases are often linked to a process called cellular senescence, where cells stop dividing and release inflammatory substances.
"The senescence microenvironment, which causes persistent inflammation and loss of intrinsic regenerative abilities, is a main obstacle to effective tissue repair in elderly individuals," wrote the researchers in the study.
