To advance the labor landscape, robotics firm 1X has embarked on a mission to offer ample physical labor by utilizing safe and intelligent androids.
The OpenAI-backed firm 1X claims it prioritizes human-environment alignment, designing hardware resembling the human form for enhanced versatility. The company employs a comprehensive autonomy approach to maximize adaptable hardware potential, teaching motor behaviors directly from visual input via neural networks.
Having initially deployed this system on its first humanoid robot, EVE, for patrolling tasks back in 2023, 1X is now rolling out its latest advancements in the capabilities of its androids. According to the company, these enhancements have been acquired solely through end-to-end learning from data, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of robotics technology.
