ABSTRACT
Methods to reliably detect UFOs can enable scientific investigation that may advance our understanding of this enigmatic phenomenon. High-speed infrared video recording of the sky, a recently claimed method for UFO detection, was investigated and found to reveal many UFOs indeed: e.g., one video shows a seconds-long pulse of activity during which more than 300 objects were counted in some frames. Motion was analyzed quantitatively, frame-by-frame, for ten objects selected for study from among the many detected. Estimated UFO accelerations exceed the acceleration due to gravity at Earth's surface by factors of 1,000 or more in some cases. It is unclear how to reconcile the forces stemming from these large accelerations as a consequence of Newton's laws of motion with the strengths of known materials.
