Stanford materials engineers have successfully 3D printed tens of thousands of nanoparticles, which were previously challenging to manufacture and these nanoparticles have long been predicted to produce new materials capable of shape-changing.
The geometry of nanoparticles dictates their physical properties. In their latest study, the team demonstrated the potential of nanotechnology in shaping future technological advancements. They successfully fabricated Archimedean truncated tetrahedrons (ATTs), a highly promising shape for engineering materials with dynamic phase-shifting capabilities.
