There is a higher chance of life on Uranus than previously thought, boffins have revealed.
What we previously knew about Uranus’ five moons was based largely on the visit of NASA’s Voyager 2 probe launched in August 1977. Data from Voyager 2 led space eggheads to believe that the moons were largely desolate, desert-like worlds, but it now seems that Voyager 2’s data was sent amid a solar storm, which interfered with the data scientists analysed.
Uranus and its moons, known collectively as the ‘Uranian system’, was thought to be completely inactive despite other moons in the outer part of the solar system. The data also showed Uranus’ magnetic field was squashed and distorted, the BBC reported.
