Scientists from United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) have laid out a suggested roadmap for developing an antimatter engine. While antimatter research is very hypothetical and not yet in the experimental phase, researchers believe it could eventually be an option for space travel at higher velocities. Sawsan Ammar Omira and Abdel Hamid I. Mourad’s “state of the field” paper on the subject appears now in the journal International Journal of Thermofluids (a research review like this is not an advocacy or position paper, and it’s not an outline for how to build or even design an antimatter propulsion system—just an update on where research is at this moment in time).
Sorry, no cigar.
