Researchers at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands have developed a 3D-printed environment that closely mimics real brain tissue. By using tiny nanopillars, they replicate the soft structure of neural tissue and the extracellular matrix fibers that support brain cells. This innovative model provides valuable insights into how neurons form networks and may help researchers better understand changes in neurological disorders like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease, and autism spectrum disorders.
