A strange rock on Mars is raising new questions about the possibility of ancient microbial life on the Red Planet. According to evidence from NASA’s Perseverance rover in Jezero Crater, the rock, named Cheyava Falls, features peculiar black, blue, and greenish spots resembling “poppy seeds”, alongside dark-rimmed “leopard spots.”
These unusual formations, combined with the rock’s chemical composition, suggest that water and organic processes may have played a role in shaping its structure—possibly hinting at biological activity billions of years ago.
