To grow a company, you need a better product. That’s happening here Peak Nano in Valley View. The company uses nanotechnology to make polymer films out of conventional plastic.

“It's a very versatile product that hits a lot of markets but has a lot of science underneath the hood,” explained Michael Ponting, the Chief Science Officer for Peak Nano.

The product is called NanoPlex. Thousands of nanolayers form a film as thin as a human hair. Ponting invented the process while he was in graduate school at Case Western Reserve University

“We can make polymer films that have properties you can't get any other way,” Ponting said. “So, we can have polymer films that survive higher temperatures. We can have polymer films that store twice the energy of traditional plastic materials.”
