The F-18 pilot who filmed a famous 2015 UFO encounter gave secret evidence to Congress and explained that he initially thought the flying object was part of training and locked onto it like an adversary.

New, heavily redacted documents released to government document repository The Black Vault reveal that the pilot who encountered an 'unexplained aerial phenomena' off the coast near Jacksonville, Florida, in 2015, known as the "Gimbal' sighting, briefed Senate staffers in 2019 on the event. 

The Navy prefers to call the objects seen in the videos 'unexplained aerial phenomena' (UAP), as opposed to the more commonly-used 'unidentified flying object' (UFO). 

 

The naval pilot who encountered the 'Gimbal' told Senators that he initially believed the aircraft was part of a training exercise and locked onto it like an adversary.
