On recommendation from someone on Twitter, I looked into the story of Jerry Freeman. Jerry was an archaeologist, interested in the Lost 49ers rather than UFOs. These were a group of settlers who moved from East to West, moving across the hard Nevada landscape across the dry Papoose lake bed. There was an inscription in the desert from these 49ers, near the mythical Area 51 that Freeman wanted to find. He was able to get permission from the National Park Service; however, the military never gave him permission.
Despite this, his curiosity led him to defy the military and trek out on his own near Papoose Lake to find them. The journey took several days through barren terrain, he had to camp and radio back to his friends to make sure he was OK. There were real dangers, not just military police, but snakes, and the lack of a water source, he could have died. What does this all have to do with Bob Lazar?
