A surprising city has earned the title of the world's 'new UFO capital' after a series of strange occurrences involving floating lights.
Alto Paraíso de Goiás, in the state of Goiás, Brazil, is known for its natural beauty and its name literally translates to High Paradise of Goiás. However, a new official motion aims to get the city recognised for its paranormal activity.
The project was proposed by state deputy Dr. George Morais in June 2024 and it looks set to be voted on soon. The motion follows incidents were strange lights descended on people visiting the area.
A "ball of golden light" even appeared in the tourist chalet of a worker from the German embassy, leading the area to build on its reputation as a hotspot for weird encounters.
Photos taken of the lush landscape also later revealed colourful floating masses that weren't noticed by the photographer until after the image was taken.
