A recent "surge" in alleged sightings of the legendary ape-like creature Bigfoot has sent conspiracy theorists into a frenzy. While most reports of the mythical beast come from America's Pacific Northwest, witnesses in and around Portage County, Ohio have documented eight sightings from March 6 to March 10.
One of these encounters left a guard dog "shaking with fear," according to a witness. The first report received by the Bigfoot Mapping Project came on March 6, and unusually it occurred in broad daylight.
According to a social media post from the Bigfoot society, the witness was "out in the field in this area when they locked eyes with a nine-foot tall, brown-haired Sasquatch". They added: "The terrifying thing is that this happened in the broad daylight at 12:23 p.m." As sighting reports soar, one Bigfoot expert has issued advice on what to do if you encounter one of these elusive beasts.
