Rep. Eric Burlison worries that if Democrats win control of Congress in the midterm elections, as many are predicting they will, the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets may be doomed.
“If we lose the midterms, this effort will come to a complete halt,” the Missouri Republican, who serves on the task force, told the “Rebelliously Curious with Chrissy Newton” podcast on congressional efforts to investigate unidentified anomalous phenomena, also commonly known as UFOs, as well as other subjects like the JFK assassination and the CIA’s MK-Ultra program.
“The reason is two-pronged. One is that the Democratic Party has made it very clear that they will focus their efforts on an investigation of the Trump administration. And then two, the Trump administration, which has been very generous with their resources on this topic, is going to pull all of those resources into defense mode (against the investigations),” he continued.
