The strange sounds phenomenon is heating up on the web with more worldwide sightings and new theories, both pro and con the hoax scenario.

New videos are filling up YouTube, and, as expected, most are by users who are trying to capitalize on the craze to bolster hit counts and attract YouTube revenue consideration.

Some are obvious fakes, but a few are quite clever, with decent imagery and higher quality audio. Acting talent, as always, is the first indicator for these fakes. It seems the spoofers are never able to avoid tipping off the joke.

But culling through the new videos does find some authentic entries by users who either have just experienced the strange sounds curiosity or are posting older videos made before the news broke about the worldwide happening.
