At least 79 people have been killed in the devasting fires this month – with thousands still missing.
Sky 5 was just one of the dozens of news channels covering the progress of the blazes.
But one particular clip has gone viral – after it appeared to show a mysterious object in the skies.
However, as the camera zooms in further a long, black object appears to be hovering in the background.
The object moves away slowly from the devastation of the fire as the news anchor discusses the condition of the forest.
In the description of the YouTube clip on conspiracy site Disclose.TV, the user wrote: "In the clip we can see what looks like a 'Cigar shape craft' using the smoke as cover."
