A team of researchers at MIT has made significant progress on a technology that could lead to batteries with up to three times the energy density of any battery that currently exists.
This is a major development. Three times the energy density is a huge factor in the battery world. Even though the technology is still in its infancy, and may require a decade of research before it becomes technically feasible, this is just the kind of practical, innovative, and enormously important American technology that the Obama administration should be fast tracking through goverment grants and other kinds of financial incentives, in order to speed up this initial R&D phase and get the technology into the manufacturing stage. And once it does reach the manufacturing stage, the factories should be built here in the USA, and staffed by US citizens. To read the rest of the article, click here.
